Styles of Furniture

Let’s find out below some of the most common styles of furniture being designed today.

Contemporary or Modern: This type of furniture has a comfortable, solid and more than anything natural look. It is available in sleek and geometric designs with distinctive lines and curves and polished surfaces. The colors mostly resonate around black, white, beige, brown and taupe. Though the colors are simple, they are used in a vibrant and bold way for a true contemporary look. A lot of mix and match combination with metal, fibreglass, aluminium is also used. The most essential feature of modern furniture is that every piece is striking and sophisticated. Contemporary styles are highly demanded in the market.

Transitional Furniture: This is characterized by simpler lines compared to traditional styles, but not as simple as contemporary. Transitional furniture is basically combining comfort and simplicity of the contemporary furniture style with the graceful styling of traditional furniture.

Eclectic Furniture: An eclectic style displays an individual’s love of different design aspects from different time periods or styles. The overall look of an eclectically styled room though unique, is mixed effectively through the creative use of color and finish, shape and texture.

Rustic: This furniture style represents lots of exposed woods, walls, columns and beams. They have simple lines and a practical feel. Often wood panelling and stones are also used. Rustic furniture looks tough and durable with a primitive appearance.
